But the fattest of them all had to be Lance Millard of Barrow. Who could forget how Lance famously kept out Kevin Hector, Jim Fryatt and Ronnie Bird at Holker Street as Barrow grabbed a shock 2-1 win over promotion seeking Avenue in 1964.

Lance was closely followed by Ken Simpkins of Hartlepools United.

When will we see their like again?
