First half was poor but we suddenly clicked after about 55 mins and played well for rest of match. Patterson pen and Bettney were the scorers. Pluses for Avenue were good performances from Lamb, Connor and Bettney when he came on and the back four. Man of the match though - for third friendly running was Tom Baker. Only about 130 there.

cheers kev. couldn't (be arsed to) go there tonight so thanks for the update.

still wish we had another midfielder or 2. still remember how much we missed captain connors when he was out last season.
Chris Clough
My first game of this season, thought we played well enough against more even opposition. Bettney looked good when he came on. Was dissapionted with Rory and Rudd but its very early days. Baker was brilliant again, how that lad isnt playing at a higher level I dont know!
First half was even then they looked to have taken off 6-7 players at half time and then we dominated the second half.
When we gel we should be a very good side.

I agree. We seem ok for forwards with Patterson Rudd and Sugden plus the guy from Rochdale who looks a good player plus Moseley. Defence looks quite good too with Lamb looking a good cover for Worsnop. But we are relying on Baker and Connors in midfield. They are both good players but we could do with a couple more as you say. I wish we still had Gaghan or Flynn too to add a bit more width up front and in midfield although Bettney played better tonight.

Ye i just got back, my first of this session at the biggining on the match we were looking pretty "average" but half way in second half we come together and it started to be dominant by the final whistle, lamb played well so did baker and connors, i wasn't to impressed with Paterson but like 'Chris Clough' said its early days but what made me think was Patterson looked tired towards the end of the first half which was worrying does anyone know what he does for living.

Overall good proformance and result... looking forward the other matches and session!.

I must have been at a different game. I thought we played well throughout.

Tom Baker definately mom again, but good performances from Hotte, Warner, Lamb & Bettney.

Bettneys goal was a cracker.

Really surprised at some of the criticism so far, played 2 teams 3 divisions higher than us and we beat Droylsden, one league higher (but 3 last season) and generally played ok.

I suppose it shows how far we have come in such a short period.

BTW tonights crowd was 102 which is disappointing.

Saturdays crowd was just over 1700 plus all the city fans who climbed over the fence.

102, thats disappointing even for a pre season friendly, makes it more intriguing why BB would want to build a twenty k stadium.

I thought the crowd looked low but 102 is worse than what I though it would be. Come on everybody where were you all? Yesterday's game was the best performance of the 3 games so far. You all missed out. I hope we have a better crowd against Blackburn at the weekend.

I think you are wrong there Moonchester - you only scored two against Droylsden. Man of the Match Brookster got a touch on the last goal.
