Who will have the highest average league attendance next season - Avenue, Halifax, Farsley or Guiseley?
I think it will be very close but my prediction is
1. Halifax 2. Avenue 3. Farsley 4. Guiseley
with all four in the 400-600 region. |
Everything depends on the press. Farsley get fantastic publicity from their local paper in Leeds as well as from the Bradford 'newspaper' whilst Halifax get very good coverage in the Courier. Avenue unfortunaterly do not get their level of support for whatever reason. I think Halifax are capable of averaging 1500. Avenue Farsley and Guiseley will be between 4 and 5 hundred depending on the sucess achieved.
Avenue get excellent press in the TA during the season. The Avenue v City pre-match reporting i admit was poor.
Average crowds for the season
1) Halifax 1000
2) Farsley 600
3) Avenue 500
4) Guiseley 390

Bang on the money W of G. I think Halifax will be around the 1,500 mark maybe a little more depending on how their season pans out. Ourselves? I would like to think that after last seasons superb average that we could add a little more to it. Maybe nudging the 700 mark. There is certainly a good 4 - 5 fixtures that will be go into four figures, FCuM, Boston, Guiseley etc.
For third or forth place you could toss a coin between Farsley and Guiseley who I will predict will be around the 500/400 mark. I'll stick me neck out for Farsley on the back of their season in the conference.
1. Halifax - Ave 1,500
2. Avenue - 700
3. Farsley - 550
4. Guiseley - 450
